Some background information that might help in choosing a name:

Product feature page:  http://www.onpitchsinging.com/welcome/

Dission of new features in v3.8:   http://singingresults.com/pitchperfector-v3-8-discussion/

Tip 1:  We’re not looking to change the name of the product. We’re looking for the fun code name.  Like Apple named their OS versions after names of Cats… Ideas: Mountain Peaks, Lakes, of course Musical terms, or Music Composers, or other historic figures.

Love the ideas coming in! Really fun seeing this creativity!

Winners selected Christmas Day.

News Flash – Just occurred to me that it would have been helpful to include screenshots of some of the demo layouts. Check back tomorrow and I’ll have a few good ones posted.

    • I think the product should be called music pitch Perfecter Simply because because most beginners do not know what pitch means or like none speaking English people BUT MOST WILL GET THE POINT OUT BY ADDING THE WORD MUSIC TO IT simply because the word music most people know that word even none speaking ENGLISH people that is some more or less that way you gain people attention if they are beginners as well as others who are not beginners so as some more or less also none speaking ENGLISH people that know the word music since music is a universal language then they can be interested

  1. Tanialee Bowman

A great name for “Pitch Perfect” should be Zephyr Cloud because when one sings right they feel as if they are sitting on a cloud, carefree and airy as denotes the word zephyr.
Sometimes singing can take one into that ethereal world that singers have to go to to
ignite passion in their performances and Pitch Perfect or Zephyr Cloud could signify this.

  2. Sandy Tarnowski

Since this new version is all about expanding the range and including more voice types, I thought of one… What if you did, PitchPerfector: Universe

Since you are expanding the accessibility of your program (android, mobile, tablet, ect.) it’s like the phrase, “The universe is always expanding” You are expanding your program. Your singing program can now reach more people…

I’m not sure if you like this idea, but it was the first thing that popped into my head…I’m not even sure if this is what I am supposed to do…so hopefully it was what you wanted…Namaste! 🙂

    • Singing Coach

Great tie to music, though a little concerned about implications/expectations. Would someone think the program was designed to train for Melody or singing in a Quartet.

    • Singing Coach

Were’ actually taking out the Soprano, Alto, Teno Bass guidelines… they were confusing to people.

Some thought that they had to choose… actually it was only a guide to help you find your approximate range on the keyboard.

    • Singing Coach

I like the sound of that, but Timbre would be another product…. well, secretly there is a Timbre tuning aspect included but it’s very complicated to explain. Until I can figure out how to explain it in a short paragraph and not confuse the subject, we’ll keep it a secret.

  3. Shawn White

Pitch Perfector Amabile Since the point of the software is to make the voice amiable, pleasant.

Pitch Perfector Anima Since using the program will help sing with feeling.

Pitch Perfector Zelosamente Using this program will help a person sing zealously

Pitch Perfector Semplice Simple help to learn how to sing on pitch.

  4. Erika Cuellar

    • Singing Coach

How Erika… could we maybe narrow it down to an even 2 dozen? 🙂

Appreciate your verbose contribution and having lots of fun reading this. Thank you!

    • Singing Coach

Knowing myself, I probably will make it free… it’s actually in the plans once v5.0 is released. Sort of like what we’re doing with the free singing lessons and the upgraded version. We’ll see how it all shapes out.

  5. Scott

Names of famous singers would fit well with your apple analogy. Each major version set (3,4 or 5) could use a different category of singers while minor version would get the actual singer name.

    For example:

3.x major versions might pick from famous opera singers so 3.8 could be Luciano.

4.x major versions might pick from famous jazz singers so 4.0 could be Billie while 4.1 could be Ella and 4.2 was Lena

5.x major versions might pick from contemporary singers

    • Singing Coach

      Excellent suggestion!

Sinatra pops to mind immediately. He sort of defined for our culture where/when it’s okay to occasionally drift off pitch. Many modern music historians consider his pitch to be impeccable (not perfect).

  6. Since you’re helping many people sing better and possibly express themselves through singing better, something like “sing your heart” sounds suitable. Instead of “sing your heart out”, which is a big cliché, “sing your heart” would make the word “sing” grammatically and figuratively like the word “draw” or “express”, which brings out the first sentence I’ve written.

  7. Johnny Gibson

    How about: {Hummingbird}, or {Songbird}, or {Canary}, or how about {In Key}, maybe {Sing like a Pro}How about {In Key} or {In Tune}Or maybe {Beautiful Voice}How about {Sing That Note}

    • Singing Coach

      I like
      Songbird
      Hummingbird…

also the names of some great guitars by Gibson 😉

of course you didn’t know that 😉

  8. Gleann Odeh

I humbly will Suggest : PItchperfector SVC 1….., to mean “Super Vocal Course 1”, then with subsequent Upgrade, the figures 2,3,4…. Can follow. Due to the fact that the Pitchperfector Producers are not calling it quit with this Version.
    Thanks!

  9. Wes

Aloha from Honolulu! It’s been said that more songs have been written about our lovely island home, than any place on earth. We do love and breath music and singing here. May I suggest naming after various Hawaiian flowers?
    Plumeria
    Hibiscus
    Ohia
    Etc.

  10. Nina Henderson

You can name it after dynamics

    Pianississimo
    Pianissimo
    Piano
    Mezzo piano
    Mezzo forte
    Forte
    Fortissimo
    Fortississimo
    Sforzando
    Crescendo
    Diminuendo or Decrescendo
    Forte-piano

Also, name it after the Grand pianos

    Petite Grand
    Baby Grand
    Medium Grand
    Ballroom Grand
    Concert Grand

Or The Solfege Chromatic or Major Scale

    Chromatic-
    Do
    Di
    Re
    Ri
    Mi
    Fa
    Fi
    Sol
    Si
    La
    Li
    Ti
    Do

    Minor-
    Do
    Re
    MiˆFa
    Sol
    La
    TiˆDo

  11. Walter Mess

How about naming versions after famous musical cities, like:
    “Vienna”
    “London”
    “New York”
    “Nashville”

  12. Sol

Name each version after a different famos singer
and maybe when you add a future, name it after a singer that mastered in that

  13. Jonathan Paul

    A good name could be

    1. Vocal wavelength
    2. Distinct
    3. Vloop
    4. Spectrum
    5. Audantity
    6. Celebber (pronounce sel a ber)
    7. Fink funk
    8. Rasper
    9. Feely

  14. Ed Perez

I would recommend a musical terms naming convention, using music terms alphabetically and repeating if and when you get to “z”. For example:

    Animato
    Bravura
    Calore
    Devoto…etc…

  15. Ajah

    Ideas

    The Pitch Mirror Program
    The Absolute Music Program
    Mission Pitch Protocol
    The crescent voice
    The voice of the world
    The Pitcher Boxer
    The Voice ToolBox
    The Sparkling Voice
    Pitch Detector
    Detective Pitch
    The soft one
    Vocal First Aid Kit
    The Singing Bible

  16. Jenna Oldfield

I think Sinatra would be a perfect name, seen as he was one of the most memorable singers to go down in history. Or maybe name each one after a legendary singer. For example, Elvis, Jackson.

    • Singing Coach

I’d love to use Sinatra – but, seems this name should be reserved for a really BIG release. V3.8 will have some nice additions, but it’s not a huge one. Vibin’ the crooners right now.

      Thanks for your note, Jenna.

  17. Ramneek

I think maybe an option could be Orpheus for the name, god of music. Another one is Expressivo, a way music can be sang expressively which I think is the reason many people decided to join this program, to express themselves through singing.

  18. Dana Ray

You can call it, pitch perfector chromatic edition,
    vocal piano,
    –vocal wave [my favorite one]

    pitch perfector wave edition
    or
pitch perfector express wave edition [long name version]

after that it could be related with larger water bodies or other wave properties [or natural phenomena as it grows, according to the properties that are added or improve in each version]

  19. Dana Ray

    –source wave edition
    -lyric(s) edition

    Following orpheus suggestion:
pandora edition [becuase you open that box when realising if you’re on pitch or not]

Now, a quick suggestion: consider star names, not take constellations, not all sounds good. Just take star ones if you have a series of names to continue marketing the editions [product line]
That’s because Antares sounds better than Draco, except if you grab the zodiac ones!

Another idea [related with music terms]:
    pitch perfector canon edition

Finally this idea: Natale Edition [pronunced natal] we are close to christmas time so
Natale [i italian] seemed so good for the project.

    Merry Christmas coach!

  20. Singing Coach

Such GREAT responses and wonderful ideas. I had a blast reading all of these great suggestions and appreciate you sharing your insight.

    Songbirds
    Hawaiian Flowers theme
    Famous singers
    Music cities
    Mythical Gods
    Angels

Pete Swan suggested “Spot On Vocal” and Des tossed in “nopitchy” – if we were renaming the product, those are awesome!

There were 11 STRONG entries worthy of winning and it was hard to choose just 3. So, I added 2 more prizes…
